In order to obtain differentiated, high quality products, the Tapuio Farm looks after all the food production process, from planting the grazing grounds and the manufacture of the animal feed, through the industrial processes, to the packaging, storage and transport of the finished goods to our customers’ shelves.

Special attention is paid to the environment and to the quality of life and well-being of our collaborators and animals.

• The free range chickens are allowed to run free, their eggs are laid in nests and their feed is wholly natural. They have an area of 5m2/bird with shade everywhere.

• To produce our special eggs, we use differentiated feed, which is rich in Selenium, Omega 3 and Vitamin E. These high levels are transferred by the birds to their eggs: this has been proven in regular tests carried out by benchmark laboratories in the country.

• The poultry farm undergoes strict sanitary monitoring, with serological tests carried out periodically, including testing for the presence of salmonella in the birds and eggs. All the tests have come back negative so far.

• Buffalo farming is carried out using the Voisin Rational Pasture System with one day of occupation for 35 days of rest. The animals are not confined, and remain free to roam 365 days a year.

• Brucellosis and tuberculosis tests, which are monitored by the Ministry of Agriculture, are carried out annually on the entire herd. This procedure, coupled with the vaccination programs against rabies, foot and mouth disease, clostridiosis, leptospirosis and the control of endo and ectoparasites, guarantees that the herd is healthy.

• Around 80% of calves are the result of artificial insemination, which enables the best genetics available in Brazil and the world to be used.

• The buffalo are milked mechanically, without any human contact. This milk is transferred from the milking room directly to the dairy through stainless steel tubing.

• DiBufalo cheeses are produced with type A pasteurized milk.

• The cheese and eggs are only packed and shipped after the batches have been passed by Quality Control.
